Massive headquarters of the online giant Trivago: Sanitary teams provided by Subauftrag.com were involved
The online giant Trivago is building new headquarters in Düsseldorf. Subauftrag.com provided qualified subcontractors for this project.
The Düsseldorf-based company Trivago is the world’s largest hotel search engine and therefore one of the most successful German Internet companies. With an initial investment of less than 1 million US dollars, Trivago has increased its sales in recent years to almost 500 million US dollars (2015).
The current office building at Bennigsen-Platz in Düsseldorf is bursting at the seams with growth of 222% since 2012 and a 60% increase in the number of employees. The move to Düsseldorf’s Media Harbor was already planned since early 2016.
Trivago headquarters: the building
The first construction phase comprises the six-story, drop-shaped building, which opens up towards the harbor basin. The elongated architecture is divided at the base area into two structures, which are connected by green inner courtyards. A varied spatial structure was created by the horizontally structured facades and numerous balconies, terraces and loggias. In the first construction phase, around 30,000 m2 and over 500 parking spaces were planned.
“Even in its shell state, the building shows how unique it will be,” said Trivago co-founder Peter Vinnemeier.
The new headquarters will reflect the open and creative corporate culture of the hotel search engine. It is designed almost entirely in the form of open space offices, will have creatively designed rooms and kitchen areas and will offer numerous Trivago-sponsored activities – from bouldering and yoga to soccer and a rooftop running track.
